Navy Boot Camp Photo with Navy Chipboard

Hi my name is Allie Clark with today's blog post. I thought that I would do a post on the Navy chip board. When I went on the site to buy some chipboards, I saw this and really liked it a lot. At first I was going to make a tag with it for my son, who is in the Navy. But after I painted it, I decided to make a memory picture instead. What I mean is, I have a photo of him when he graduated from boot camp. I have been wanting to do something special with it to display it in my home for him. So I pulled out his picture and started. I am going to tell you how I did it.

This is the supplies that I used. I purchased this all at Michaels.
I chose to use a canvas for my piece, but can use most anything that you want. I first put two coats of paint on the canvas letting it dry between coats. You don't have to paint the middle because the picture will cover it up anyway.
Make sure you paint the side to

I then put a thin layer of Mod Podge over the paint, and placed the picture on the canvas. Starting from the middle pressing out to make sure it sticks. I then made sure that all the bubbles was pressed out.. Let it dry for a hour. You want it to dry so when you do the next step it won't lift from the canvas.

I then put four coats of Mod Podge over the whole canvas. Letting it dry for a hour between each coat. When I say the whole canvas I mean even over the picture. I set this aside and stared on the Chipboard.

I started by painting the chipboard, putting two coats of paint, letting it dry between coats. Then brushed a thin layer of glitter glue. Let it dry
I put Glossy Accents over it and let it dry over night.
I punched the out the anchors with the punches and attached the twine to them.
I then glued the twine around the edge of the whole thing. O and that's my son in the third row down with the glasses.

I then glued the anchors, and the Navy Chipoard where I wanted them.

I hope you liked my post and go check out Infinity Engraving they have a lot to choose from and can do custom orders.

Paper Clips

I love paper clips, they are useful for most anything. Do you remember Macgyver and how he could fix anything with a paper clip? I loved that show. I loved how no matter where he was and what ever he had he could make anything or fix anything. I like to make anything and try anything new. So I saw that you could make bookmarks with paper clips.  hmmmmmmmmm. So I did make some, and now I love them even more. I make them all the time. You can use any material to make them just like Macgyver did. So you may be asking how do you make them? Its not hard at all. Just need to have some time. I am going to walk you step by step to how to make them.

Pocket Letters

I am just learning  how to do the blogging thing. O and I am not good at putting my thoughts down on paper or should I say on a blog. I can't spell very good, and my sentence structure probably will not be the best. But I will do my best at doing this. I was on YouTube one day and looking at how to videos and came across someone showing their pocket letter they got from someone else. I liked it a lot. I then looked at more videos and in one of them a person said the Janette Lane was the founder of this. I watched a few of her videos and realized that I like this a lot. Each card in each little pocket was like making a ATC card, i have done that several time. and love making them. I am a big card maker and have so many cards that I have made that they are coming out of my ears. I thought was I can do this and meet new friends all over the world. I like people and people all over is even better. I could share my art with people who could really appreciate it. I then  joined several Facebook sites so that I could make them then trade. I loved everything about making it.

This was the very first one I  made.

Blogging for the first time

Blogging for the first time. I have no clue where to start. I have never done anything like this before. Maybe I will talk a little about myself. How, when and why I craft. When I was in school Art and Craft time was my favorite time. I like to do most anything and will try anything at least once. When I was in Hi School I would pick my  school electives out and would chose. Art, Jewelry making, Wood working, Sewing, Cooking, Painting, pottery, Stained Glass, anything that was offered I took. If it had something to do with making something.
